Term: MagneticMoment
Definition:

A constant of motion related to thegyromotion of a particle in a magnetic field that is either static or slowlyvarying with respect to the gyroperiod. The magnetic moment is usuallydenoted by using the lower case Greek letter for mu, 5, and can becalculated by using 5 = m u^2/2B where m is the particle mass, u is thevelocity of the particle perpendicular to the constant or average magneticfield direction, and B is the magnitude of the magnetic field strength.
