A jetlike northward looping excursion of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current east of southern Argentina; also known as the Falkland Current. Somewhere between 33 and 38S it meets the Brazil Current and
turns eastward, forming an intense temperature and salinity front.
(Also called mammatus.) Hanging protuberances, like pouches, on the undersurface of a cloud. This supplementary cloud feature occurs mostly with cirrus, cirrocumulus, altocumulus, altostratus, stratoc
umulus, and cumulonimbus; in the case of cumulonimbus, mamma generally appear on the underside of the anvil (incus). See cloud classification.
