Term: Snowfield
Definition: A more or less extensive and persistent mass of snow. Snowfields are more extensive than snowpatches, but the distinction is not made precisely in common usage. A snowfield that is perennial may be difficult to distinguish from a glacier.  IHPGlacierMassBalance
