Term: Ice day
Definition: In climatology, a day on which the maximum air temperature in a thermometer shelter does not rise above 0C (32F), and ice on the surface of water does not thaw. This term is not used in the United States, but is used in the United Kingdom, throughout most of Europe, and probably in many other parts of the world.
